Home for Families Moves Locations to Better Serve Families

In a strategic decision to enhance programmatic opportunities for families, Central Ohio’s leading non-shelter provider of family housing, Home for Families (HFF), has announced the finalized sale of its original building at 33 N. Grubb St., Columbus, Ohio 43215. The organization will continue serving clients from its new office location at 727 E. Main St., Columbus, Ohio 43205.

Beth Fetzer-Rice, CEO & President of Home for Families, said the move positions HFF to make an even greater impact in addressing the affordable housing crisis, advocating for social and economic equality, and empowering families toward self-sufficiency.

“This decision, endorsed by the HFF Board of Directors, aligns both with the ongoing community demand for the organization's housing services and HFF’s future objectives,” she said. “The proceeds from this sale will reinforce HFF's commitment to empowering families beyond housing crises and sustaining vital housing programming and initiatives.”

Despite unprecedented challenges stemming from the global pandemic, Home for Families (HFF) has demonstrated remarkable resilience, now serving nearly 1,200 families annually amidst health, economic, housing, and equality crises. The low availability of affordable housing stock and increased demand for HFF's supportive housing solutions underscores the critical need for its services.

In addition to the announcement of its new office location at 727 E. Main St., HFF is excited to unveil a new partnership with The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth, from the Greater Philadelphia area, who will operate a charter school tailored to serve lower-income families at the Grubb St. location. This collaboration enables HFF to continue offering out-of-school programs and maintain its resource pantry, providing ongoing support for both HFF families and students attending The Lincoln Center's charter school programs.

Home for Families has immense gratitude for the continued unwavering support of its network of donors, volunteers, staff, and vast network of community partners, all of which are crucial in propelling the organization's 38-year journey, Fetzer-Rice said.

“As Central Ohio’s leading non-shelter provider of family housing, HFF has proven record of making a meaningful difference in the lives of those served and the Columbus community,” she said. “Together, we CAN end family homelessness and make progress in the fight against poverty in Columbus.”
