Supporter Spotlight
One of our supporters, rising 6th grader Micah, recently stepped up in a big way to shine a light on our mission. In April, the 11-year-old and his family attended a Seeds of Caring volunteer event to make move-in kits for our clients and their families.
Since he was in third grade, Micah has led his class in a service project at the end of each school year.
"It just makes me feel really good and lifts me up and makes me feel happy about life," he said.
This year, inspired by his spring Seeds of Caring event, Micah decided he and his classmates would do something to help Home for Families. Micah led his classmates in a discussion explaining HFF’s commitment to resolving a family's housing crisis and providing support to prevent future homelessness. His 5th grade class then collected cleaning supplies and toiletries and decorated housewarming cards to be given to our newly housed clients and their families.
Thank you, Micah, and well done!
