Your incredible support will provide the flexibility needed to prevent evictions and literal homelessness, helping families meet basic needs and sustain their independence. Funds will assist with:
- Emergency rental and utility payments
- Transportation and childcare costs
- Food security
- Education and employment-related expenses
- Move-in kits with essential housing items
- Baby baskets for new parents
Educational Empowerment: Afterschool ($60,000) & Summer Achievers ($30,000) – $90,000
Empower the next generation by supporting our Afterschool and Summer Achievers programs! Your generous contribution to the Dowd Education Program will provide essential resources and activities for children from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. This funding will ensure that our youth receive nutritious meals after school, engage in social-emotional learning, participate in hands-on learning experiences and physical activities, and enjoy enriching field trips, including travel costs. By investing in educational empowerment, you can help create a brighter future for low-income children of families enrolled in our housing programs.
A Pawsitive Impact: Named Sponsor of the HFF Facility Dog Program – $75,000
Be a pioneer in supporting our innovative Facility Dog Program, the first of its kind in the Midwest for a housing organization such as ours! In partnership with Canine Companions, this program positions HFF as a leader in trauma-informed care for families and youth facing homelessness. For 20 hours each week, Tatum provides therapeutic comfort, anxiety reduction, and a sense of security to individuals navigating the trauma of displacement and instability of both episodic and chronic homelessness during client visits and intakes. Your generous contribution will support the entire annual operational costs of our dual staff handler system, while ensuring the best care of our four-legged client advocate.
Lights On!: HFF Utility Coverage for One Year – $55,000
Your support will keep the lights on at HFF! Covering utility costs for electricity, water, and trash removal ensures our Case Managers can effectively assist over 1,000 families each year. This basic yet crucial funding enables smooth operations and enhances our ability to divert more of our limited general funding to secure stable housing for the families and youth we serve.
NextGen Tech: Technology Upgrades to Better Serve Families – $35,000
Help us equip our Case Managers and Program Directors with long-overdue technology upgrades to enhance service delivery for our clients. Your support will provide reliable laptops, document scanners, and crucial software, encryption and security enhancements. Routine VPN and server maintenance, along with ongoing IT support, are vital for our daily operations, enabling seamless communication between our trusted network of partners and the families we serve.
Mobility Matters: Reliable Transportation for Youth – $25,000
Help us maintain our fleet of three (3) buses for out-of-school programs! Reliable transportation is critical for our Afterschool and Summer Achievers programs, especially for families lacking consistent access to (reliable) transportation. Your support will ensure that children can fully participate in essential educational and social-emotional learning activities and avoid the dreaded summer slide (academic regression). Funds will go towards routine and unexpected maintenance, allowing us to transport children safely to and from these vital programs.
Resource Hero: Stocked Resource & Food Pantry – $18,000
Become the cornerstone of our Resource Pantry by funding essential food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and household items for one year.
